목차아이콘 Code Of Conduct
·
Welcome to the Dream Design Center(DDC) where try to provide access to a wide range of useful and well-maintained equipment as well as project space. DDC seeks to provide a safe and secure environment with facilities suitable for fabrication and collaborative activities. The DDC users are expected to respect the rights of others according to the DDC Code of Conduct. This code is intended to ensure all parties are respected and able to work in a safe environment. Violations may result in refusal of service and use.
1. Respect people

-
No one shall create a condition that endangers the health or safety of other persons.
-
No one shall threaten any other person with damage to such person's property, or cause any other person to fear damage to others property.
2. Respect property
-
No one shall take without authorization, misuse, destroy, deface or damage the property of the DDC or of any of its users.
-
No one shall create a condition that unnecessarily endangers or threatens destruction of the property of the DDC or of any of its users.
-
No one may remove DDC property, including tools, from the facility unless authorized by DDC staff.
-
Users must return tools to their designated locations after use.
3. Sanctions for non-compliance
-
The students who are not compliant the rules may be denied to access to the DDC.
-
Disciplinary or legal action on art of the school may also be taken in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
목차아이콘 Policies
·
Follow the policy below to ensure that students and staff are respected and able to conduct their work effectively in a safe environment. Violations may result in refusal of service.
User Policy
·
Abide by the DDC Code of Conduct.
·
Listen to and follow all directions of the DDC staff.
·
The DDC contains tools that can cause serious bodily harm up to and including death. All activities are done at your own risk.
·
Users may be harmed by the negligence of other people. In such cases, the affected users agree that the hold DDC is not liable.
·
Do not enter spaces or take items of the DDC without permission.
·
Label your own tools and materials. All materials stored at DDC are stored at your own risk. The DDC takes no responsibility for a user’s lost, damaged or stolen property.
·
No one may provide their access ID to any other person for access to DDC. Violators are subject to the DDC access suspension or revocation of DDC access.
·
2nd floor: No work is allowed here except for idea meetings and simple prototyping(NO FABRICATION).
·
All users must notify DDC staff immediately if their access ID is lost, stolen or missing.
·
Failure to abide by these policies may result in immediate ejection from the DDC.

Safety Policy
·
To minimize the likelihood of injuries, the following procedures shall apply to all workshops/spaces and to the work of DDC users who are permitted to work in those spaces. All students using DDC’s tools must take the relevant introductory instruction from staff, no matter their previous experience with said tool.
·
Please note that experience in a lab does not equal good safety awareness. Many accidents occur not only to beginners, but also experienced workers that feel more comfortable in the lab who have become more casual in their approach to safety guidelines.
·
Ask a staff for help when needed.
·
Always ask staff when using a new machine.
·
Do not wear loose fitting clothing and long sleeve shirts/sweatshirts.
·
Do not wear neckties or an ID card lanyard.
·
No jewelry in the fabrication lab. (Including earrings, watches and rings)
·
Make certain that long hair is not hanging loose, but is pulled back away from equipment.
·
Wear appropriate safety gear(goggles, face shields, protective clothing, closed toed shoes, etc.) when working with any lab equipment.
·
Never work alone(at least two persons should be present in the Fabrication lab.).
·
Know where the fire extinguishers are located.
·
Know the hazards associated with your work. Be sure you are fully educated on the proper use and operation of any tool before beginning a job. If you cannot do a job safely in the fabrication lab, ask the staff for assistance.
·
If you don’t have experience with a specific material, consult the lab staff for precautions.
·
Before starting any machine be sure to check that it is set up correctly and fully operational.
·
Use gloves or a special tool for the removal of chips, shavings and debris(they can be sharp).
·
When doing heavy sanding, face masks or respirators should always be worn.
·
Keep your fingers clear from the point of operation of machines by using special tools and devices such as push sticks and paddles.
·
Never use a rag near moving machinery.
·
Keep the work area free from debris. Clean spills immediately and remove all sawdust and wood chips.
·
Do not bring any food or drink into the fabrication lab.
·
Clean up after yourself. Before you leave the lab be sure all tools are returned to their appropriate position and all the machines are clean and the floor is swept.
·
Avoid earphones, cell phone use and texting. We need to be able to get your attention and you need to hear what’s going on around you. Simply go elsewhere to use your phone.
·
Power tools can be extremely dangerous if they are used improperly. Common accidents are often caused by the following.
·
Touching the cutting, drilling, or grinding components
·
Getting caught in moving parts
·
Suffering electrical shock due to improper grounding, equipment defects, or operator misuse
·
Being struck by particles that normally eject during operation
·
Touching hot tools or work pieces
·
Falling in the work area
·
Being struck by falling tools
·
When working around power tools, you must wear personal protective equipment and avoid  wearing loose clothing or jewelry that could catch in moving machinery. In addition to the general lab guidelines, follow these guidelines for working with power tools.
·
Use the correct tool for the job.
·
Do not use a tool or an attachment for something it was not designed to do.
·
Select the correct bit, blade, cutter, or grinder wheel for the material at hand.
·
Keep all guards in place. Cover exposed belts, pulleys, gears, and shafts that could cause injury.
·
Always operate tools at the correct speed for the job at hand(Working too slowly can cause an accident just as easily as working too fast).
·
Watch your work when operating power tools(Stop working if something distracts you).
·
Do not rely on strength to perform an operation(The correct tool, blade, and method should not require excessive force).
·
* If undue force is necessary, you may be using the wrong tool or have a dull blade.
·
Before clearing jams or blockages on power tools, disconnect from power source. Do not use your hand to clear jams or blockages. Use an appropriate tool.
·
Never reach over equipment while it is running.
·
Never disable or tamper with safety releases or other automatic switches.
·
When the chance for operator injury is high, use a push stick to move material through a machine.
·
Disconnect power tools before performing maintenance or changing components.
·
Keep a firm grip on portable power tools. These tools tend to "get away" from operators and can be difficult to control.
·
Do not operate power tools when you are sick, fatigued, or taking strong medication.
·
Make sure all guards and safety devices are in place and in perfect operating order.
·
Do not use a machine without the proper guards.
·
Know the physics of the machine and where the cutting force wants to throw the material.
·
When feeding material through a machine with the hands, be aware of the direction you are pushing (away from blade or cutter).
·
Never clean a machine while it is running.
·
Never make an adjustment unless the power is off. The tool must come to a complete stop.
·
If something doesn’t sound right, or feel right - turn off the machine and inform the supervisor or monitor.
